We start growing CBD hemp

In other words, what does grass need for proper growth? A CBD hemp plant for a rich harvest ideally requires optimal conditions, which you must learn to work with. For the proper growth of your plant, light is the most important, because CBD hemp needs at least eighteen hours of light a day. If we grow cannabis outdoors, we have no choice but to wait for at least twelve hours of daylight to achieve germination and ideally plant the plant where it will have at least eight hours of direct sunlight. It is for this reason that it is easier, but significantly more financially demanding, to grow cannabis indoors, where this problem can be easily solved with lamps with a timer.

Lighting for indoor cannabis cultivation

Whether you grow roses, tulips or CBD hemp at home, it must be clear to you that water is essential for the proper growth and prosperity of every plant. If you have CBD hemp indoors, water is also a means of supplying nutrients to the plant, which we will talk more about later.

The most important thing about the water we use for watering is its pH. We measure him pH meter, which is indispensable to ensure proper growth. The watering interval is about three to five days, but rather follow the fact that we always water when the top five centimeters of the soil is completely dry. In addition, we also need to ensure the proper permeability of the soil and the pot. If the water stays in the pot, the plant will easily overflow and begin to wither. The correct permeability is if the water flows through us and appears almost immediately under the flower pot.

Types of lighting:

  • HID - faster growth, more economical, consumes a lot of energy
  • LED – slower growth, but significant energy savings, financially least expensive
  • CFL – for smaller spaces, lower heat production, we can hang it closer to the plant

If you plant CBD hemp outdoors, no intervention is needed if there is enough rainfall. But don't rest on your laurels in drier seasons when the cannabis plant needs your help. And this despite the fact that CBD hemp is a very resistant plant that tolerates cold and higher temperatures. However, for a high yield of CBD flowers, it is ideal to maintain a stable temperature of around 27° with a flow of fresh air and good ventilation. But the correct air temperature is not the only aspect that we have to take care of. In the interior, we need to ensure the right air humidity, thanks to which our sticks will be thoroughly soaked with hemp resin. If we expose the plant to an environment that is too dry, it is likely that pests will appear on it. On the other hand, too much moisture will cause mold to attack CBD hemp.

History of hemp cultivation in the Czech Republic

Did you know that hemp cultivation has its roots in the Czech territory several thousand years ago? It is so! Growing hemp was a tradition especially in warmer regions such as Moravia and southern Bohemia. In Mohelnice in Moravia, archaeologists discovered hemp textiles estimated to be around 5000 years old. The oldest surviving hemp spinning warps date back to 2 BC. Hemp has been a very popular crop due to its wide use.

It was mainly cultivated for textile production, while the unused parts were also used for further work. A certain part of the hemp seeds was kept for the next sowing and hemp oil was produced from the rest, in which healing effects people have firmly believed since ancient times. Hemp seeds were also used as food or fodder for livestock. The broken stilts could be used as bedding for cattle or to insulate buildings, and the best quality charcoal was made from the roots.

Drying and storing hemp

Drying, as the last stage of growing cannabis, is a lengthy process that should take as little time as possible two to three weeks. The ideal environment for drying cannabis is a dry, dark and cool place with indirect air flow. The sticks can change their color from bright green to yellow, blue or purple, it depends on the variety we have chosen for cultivation. However, don't count on drying your CBD hemp and going on vacation. It is necessary to regularly check the cannabis flowers to see if they are not dried out or mold is forming on them.

Pour the dried CBD flowers into a glass container with a closable lid. However, do not cram the cones into the glass in order to achieve ideal drying in the glass. In the first weeks, we should open the jar for an hour every day so that the released moisture escapes and fresh air enters the container. Over time, it is enough to open the jar once a week. In this way, we let the hemp sticks mature. You have to determine the length of maturation yourself. The longer the flowers ripen, the more delicate their taste will be.

Store the jars in a cool, dark place. Cannabinoids can degrade with prolonged exposure to light. The moment the hemp flowers are dry to the touch, we are finally done! Next time you will just adjust the composition of fertilizers and other details. Gradually, however, with your diligence, you will undoubtedly work your way up to perfection CBD hemp.

Cultivation in a nutshell

Cultivation of classic cannabis aka marijuana is a vast topic, so it is important to note that the legal and regulatory framework for cannabis cultivation varies by country and jurisdiction. CBD hemp is especially demanding on the preparation of the soil and the selection of quality seeds, because they play a crucial role in the final result. As we mentioned above – cannabis plants can be grown both outdoors and indoors. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. The herb is sensitive to moisture and light, so do not forget about regular care and fertilization. CBD hemp can be susceptible to pests and diseases, so be aware of that. The flowers are harvested when they are at their optimum stage of maturity.

This depends on the purpose of the cultivation itself. CBD hemp flowers and seeds can be used to extract cannabidiol, which is found in CBD drops, oils, food, cosmetics and other legal cannabis products.
