World Marijuana Day is celebrated every year. Do you know when and why?
Did you know that even marijuana has its day on the calendar? You've heard of the numeric code 420? What does this magic number mean and how did it actually come about?
World Marijuana Day is April 20. Celebrations take place mainly in America, but with the gradual legalization of cannabis and cannabis products with higher or lower content THC the celebrations also reach Europe. But why this particular day, which marks the number 420? It is said that many students started consuming marijuana regularly at 16:20 PM, according to the American format of 4:20 PM. However, this is not the only possible explanation. Apart from it, there are many other speculations as to how this number could have been created. So let's look at it together.
History of the creation of 420
The entire 420 cult was founded by five students in San Rafael, California in the last century, specifically in 1971. This group of students was called the Waldos after the large wall behind which they regularly gathered on cannabis joint. A member of the California Coast Guard is said to have tipped the students off about a nearby marijuana field. However, out of fear, the policeman concealed the exact location of the field and only provided hidden clues to the students. At this point, a convention was formed that the students would gather every afternoon at exactly 16:20 PM under the statue of Louis Pasteur to search the field for the illegal herb. Many years have passed since then, but by now every foodie knows what "wanna 4/20?" means in colloquial English.
Myths about the origin of the number 420
There are many superstitions about how the number 420 came into being. The most common of them are the following:
Myth #1:
420 was founded in honor of Adolf Hitler's birthday
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20 in the town of Braunau am Inn in Austria, near the Austrian border. But that's where all the connection ends. Hitler had no part in the creation of the holiday or the creation of the slogan.
Myth #2:
April 20 is ideal for sowing cannabis
It always depends whether you want to grow cannabis outdoors (outdoor) or indoors (indoor), possibly in a greenhouse, whose yield we call greenhouse flowers. The ideal time for outdoor sowing is spring, especially the end of April. However, there is no evidence to show any connection specifically between April 20 and more successful cannabis sowing. Cannabis plants are in no way healthier, nor are the yields of cannabis flowers higher.
Myth #3:
There are 420 chemical compounds in cannabis
Another fallacy is the theory that there are 420 active chemical compounds in cannabis that we call cannabinoids. However, the truth is that over 100 chemical compounds involving CBD have been discovered so far, CBG, CBN, HHC and more. This number is likely to increase, but it is still a long way from 420.
Myth #4:
420 is the police code for marijuana
There is no evidence to confirm a connection between the number 420 and codes used by police forces. A few years ago, however, the law enforcement the legalization of cannabis in California they chose the term "420" to name their bills.
Myth #5:
The number 420 refers to the death of Bob Marley
Bob Marley died on May 11, 1981 in a hospital in Miami, Florida. We can't find any connection with the number 420 here either.
Why is International Marijuana Day celebrated?
The cannabis plant is a miracle herb. Anyone who claims the opposite is lying to himself or does not have the authoritative information needed for an objective assessment. Therapeutic effects of hemp cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG, CBN, THC and others are truly diverse. Hemp can be used as an alternative source of fuel, for the production of clothing, as animal feed, for pressing hemp oil, extracting medicinal components from it for the production of CBD products. In construction, we can even use it as hemp concrete and hemp insulation!
Interesting fact: The hemp herb was first cultivated three thousand years ago!
The initial use of the hemp plant was mainly for the production of ropes, textiles, as fodder for farm animals, which at the time were valued in gold because they were necessary for survival. Since ancient times, hemp has also been used to produce hemp oil for its numerous benefits.
Hemp oil
Hemp oil is obtained by pressing the seeds of hemp, with the Latin name Cannabis sativa. The oil is cold pressed and has a light or dark green color with an unmistakable taste. If the oil goes through refining, it is colorless, tasteless and odorless. Hemp oil can help harmonize blood pressure, prevent cardiovascular disease and lower cholesterol. Athletes can use hemp oil to relieve muscle spasms, and it can also act as a diabetes prevention. Hemp oil can be a great helper in the treatment of inflammation, skin diseases, psoriasis and atopic eczema. You can find an article dedicated specifically to hemp oil on our website blog: Effects of hemp oil.
Hemp seed oil is also used as a CBD carrier oil and CBG drops from hemp, it is no different CBN oils.
Hemp seed
Today, hemp seed, the source of which is technical hemp, has gained great popularity. Hemp seed contains two very important acids that are necessary for the proper functioning of the brain and its development. We are talking about omega-3 alpha linolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid. Hemp seed is made up of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It contains at least 20 amino acids important for building muscle tissue, chlorophyll, lecithin, cannabidiol acid (CBDA) and lots of vitamins and minerals.
Hemp seed strengthens the immune system, has a beneficial effect on mental and physical stress and can help in the treatment of psoriasis and eczema.
