• By comparison, in calendar year 2022, Canadian patients purchased $410 million worth of medical cannabis products, down 7,4% from 2021, according to Statistics Canada.

• In the first half of calendar year 2023, spending on medical cannabis was CA$185 million, according to StatsCan data. This is the lowest total for the first half of the year since 2016.
• Canada still has the world's largest federally regulated market for unapproved medical cannabis, with Australia a close second.
